Allez Vervins

At the beginning of 97, after lots are drawn for the Coupe de France football championship, the amateur team of Vervins (a small town of 3,000 people), which plays in one of the lower divisions, is to play against the professional club of Auxerre, who were the 1996 French champions. All Vervins is in a flutter. The hairdresser, butcher, waitress and forest ranger all have something to say about the importance of the event. Right up to the day after the match, with humour and emotion, the camera films the reality of this small corner in the north of France which for a short while found itself in a dream.
