Auditions for a Revolution

In this video, Irina Botea invites students and faculty from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago to re-enact the event in Romania’s December 1989 Revolution that tumbled the Ceauşescu regime. The artist attempts to revive these moments by reprising exactly the same scenes as those acted out by the original protagonists; the divergence shows how hard it is to comprehend History.
