Grandeur et miniature de la Bosnie Herzégovine

Emmanuel Jespers
1996 Belgium 52 minutes bosniac

On the isle of Brac, guns and snipers are silent. Electricity is back, and gas too… Groups of teenagers, some women, a few men and old people stand under the archway of a hotel, waiting for the summer heat to die down. They are dressed as we are. They don’t talk much. For them, the Bosnian war is over. They have lost their country. Somewhere off the coast of Split, in Croatia, 2500 Bosnian refugees live on this small tourist island. In forced exile, starting from scratch, they trace their past. This film is the story of their memory regained.
