In the small towns of the Argentinian pampas, the cuadreras, a form of horse-racing with no saddle, are still a real passion. Pablo, a local newspaper photographer who has been laid off, knows that at 57 he will not find another paid job. He and his family now survive thanks to the weekly racecourse meetings, as he has invented a makeshift photo-finish system, which puts a sharp stop to any end-of-race conflicts… He also relies on selling photos of the one-day racing heroes, christenings, marriages and birthdays… The chronicle of life in a crisis-ridden country, when daily troubles can be forgotten for the space of a Sunday.
