Sheikh Abdallah Ben Hussein Al Amar reigns according to the tradition of Beduins, over an area between Sanaa, the capital of Yemen, and the Saudi Arabia border. He has his own private militia, and retains all attributes of feudal lords, such as the power to arbitrate conflicts between rival tribes and the administration of justice over his subjects.
