Rimbaud is not dead, he lives on among us. In Charleville-Mézières, his tomb receives the utmost attention – be it from the municipality or admirers of his works, from his international fan club or the postman who brings his mail. In the town, one also comes across characters who see the world as a network of incredible correspondences and dazzling analogies, whether it be the homeless book-lover or the amateur archaeologist who finds in his fossils the original genius of the author of Le Bateau Ivre. Rimbaud’s grave has become the altar for curious ceremonies where each has his own ritual. It is the meeting place for a vast brotherhood where ages, backgrounds, nationalities and social classes mingle indifferently. The only ones to really know are the two employees who look after the cemetery. For them too, Rimbaud lives on, but in a more personal, inner way. (Yann Lardeau)
