Rising From the Surface is a film on the life and work of poet and writer Gajanan Madhav Muktibodh, one of the few Indian artists who successfully faced the challenge of relating to the contemporary world. Making use of Muktibodh’s short stories, poetry and critical writing, the film take us into the ambience in which he worked and which he challenged with his work.
