SCENES FROM THE CLASS STRUGGLE IN PORTUGAL
1976
Portugal; United States
96 minutes
English
A film made for the activist minorities in the United States, to help them learn about the events in Portugal, which had been distorted by the international press. “Like an essay, a linear analysis of the events in Portugal after the overthrow of fascism in 1974, and up to 1976. The editing of violently fragmented images interacts with a detached, imperturbable analytical text: in this sense, the conflict between the two is the subject of the film.” (Robert Kramer)
