The Bus

Haskell Wexler
1963 United States 62 minutes English

August 1963, in San Francisco, Haskell Wexler boards a bus full of demonstrators setting out for the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, during which Martin Luther King gave his historic “I Have a Dream” speech. Documenting the aspirations of the passengers, these are preciously conserved fragments from just a few of the 250,000 protest marchers.
