On the border between the United States and Mexico, patrol guards track down illegal immigrants attempting to cross into El Dorado… But is happiness really to be found just the other side of the Rio Grande? Franco enjoys being in New York, but his wife Micaela will not settle down and dreams of returning home. As for Antonio, he turns back before crossing the line… because the need for a home is as strong as the desire to get out. The bus leaving the village takes the young people far away from their families. The old people stay. In these increasingly deserted mountain villages, people are born to emigrate and return home to die. And any choice in the matter becomes impossible.
