In 1954, the American nuclear test “Bravo” took place off the Marshall Islands. Two of the atolls were not evacuated and suffered fom fall-out, which contaminated the inhabitants who have also been hit by the long term effects of polluted environment and food. Thirty years later, American scientific expeditions continue to study the effects of radio-activity and to try to remedy these. Using archive material and an on-the-spot investigation, this film denounces the circumstances of the “accident” and highlights the responsibilities and issues involved.
