Le Voyage d’hiver

Josée Constantin
1987 France 48 minutes French

1987 – six mothers, five French and one English, all divorced from Algerians undertook a protest march from Paris to the U.N headquarters in Geneva, to make international opinion aware of their painful situation and obtain the right of visit for their children, taken away and retained in Algeria by their fathers. The film contrast their agonising suffering to interminable diplomatic discussions and government inertia.
