Patricio Guzman filmed the Battle of Chile in 1974 and then, as many of his fellow countrymen, was forced into exile. Twenty-Years later, he returns to his camera to try and understand how and to what extent the amnesia imposed by Pinochet has succeeded in destroying the memory and energy of a people. ‘I feel a great solitude’, he wrote during the reckoning in the grey city of Santagio
