Living in a flat-roofed house in the heart of the historical city of Delhi, the old Bhai Mian devotes himself to his art. A former silversmith ruined by inflation, he has discovered in the creation of kites a way of making the most of his skilful hands and his taste for beautiful objects to earn his living and to bring pleasure to others. He is an ordinary, but extremely resourceful man with enormous dignity and grace.
Diplômée de l’Institut du film et de la télévision d’Inde, avec comme film de fin d’étude, une fiction Kinhi Chuttiyon Mein, during any holidays, 1982. Par la suite, elle a été monteuse sur différents documentaires, dont B.C. Sanyal et a réalisé Tribal Medicine puis deux films de la série Portraits of Belonging dont Bhai Mian est le premier volet ; Born at Home, 2000
