Last Enemy – Haoyev haacharon
Jim Mirrione, an American playwright and author of a play about the conflict between Israel and Palestine, longed to see Last Enemy put on by a mixed group of actors, including Israelis, Palestinians and Jordanians. This group was eventually destined to prove that the two nations could indeed coexist. In 1998, three Palestinians, three Israelis, two Jordanians and an Israeli Arab thus leave to rehearse in England and the United States, on the basis that distance would help the actors get on together better. The film follows how the theatre work brings the the group together, how they live from day to day and the conflicts that arise between individuals and political views. It takes a closer look at Achsen, a Palestinian actress, who finds it difficult to fit into the group because of a painful personal experience that she had always repressed.
