Ang Isla sa Dulo ng Mundo

A trip to Itayat, one of the Batan islands, to the very north of the archipelago. The island has always been isolated because of the distance and the raging tempests in the cold season. It is commonly only known for its tourist attractions. Its language, culture, customs seem very far away. “I was interested in finding this community’s characteristics that account for its social life and customs. After two weeks, I had shot 23 hours on video… One year later, I felt brave enough to look through my rushes and edit them. I spent one year editing.” (Raya Martin)
