Suicide

Shelly Silver
2003 United States; Japan 70 minutes English

Tragi-comic peregrinations around public spaces in Asia, Europe and Latin America, following the impulses of a desperately troubled narrator. Suicide is a sort of film within a film, where Shelly Silver embodies her own caricature: a director in prey to scatophilia uses her camera to caress the strangers who attract her and the illuminated signs that catch her eye.
