Horse day

Mohamed Bourouissa

Philadelphia, where the Constitution was written, is one of the few American cities where you can move around riding a horse. There are public and private stables everywhere within the city, horses are all around. But this practice is now threatened by the local council. The northern districts, where you can still find many stables, try to preserve this heritage transmitted from generation to generation. Mohamed met the members of an Afro-American community from Fletcher Street’s stables in order to create an Art project with them. He proposed them to organize a « tuning » horses contest in association with artists from Philadelphia. The aim was to make a movie from this experience.
