The re-enaction of the Battle of Morgarten (1315), after which the Habsburgs withrew from Switzerland is a symbol of national unity: processions, shooting competitions, official speeches… Thanks to the people’s participation, the film becomes a self portrai of an area, giving a local event its historical and sociological dimension.
