Martin Verdet

Born in 1970, Martin Verdet graduated from the École supérieure d’art graphique (ESAG) in 1992. He is a graphic designer, painter, scenographer and installation artist. Since 2001, each of his films has constructed and developed a decidedly personal style that combines intimacy and surrealism, documentary and fiction. In 2005, he designed the exhibition Lison Guerry-Verdet, ma mère at the Museum of Grenoble, which brings together several of his works including his first feature-length film Donner le jour (2005). In 2008, he made the documentary, Les Archers. Then, in 2015, Je me suis mis en marche, a documentary essay with the poet, Franck Venaille, based on his book, La Descente de L’Escaut. In 2017, he went on to make a fiction film: El Pez (Le Poisson), shot in Mexico.
