Mueda, a small village in the far North of Mozambique, is a landmark for the Mozambican people’s history of resistance during the Portuguese colonialist occupation. On 16 June 1960, 600 people were shot to death by Portuguese soldiers. On 16 June1976, a play about this massacre is shown for the first time, in the very square where the massacre was carried out.
