Out of the Present

In 1991 Sergei Krikalev was sent into space from the Soviet Union, on board of the USSR’s MIR Space Station. But as Krikalev orbited the planet Earth, his country collapsed and ceased to exist. He was unable to return as scheduled, and stayed for ten months in orbit. When he ultimately did come back to Earth, his world had been transformed.
