Time goes by peacefully in the courtyard of Hamza, the tailor, as the women from his neighbourhood gather there to work and talk. The Sultan summons a meeting with his leading governors, while Salamatu and Bashir, two reporters from the local Nomad Radio are chasing the latest news from around the town. It is Ramadan, and the religious spirit is in everyone. In front of the main mosque, the men are praying. In a Koranic school, the women ask themselves questions. Narrow streets, with mud and clay houses, courtyards full of life: this is Agadez, a city in the desert.
