Algérie, la vie quand même

Djamila Sahraoui
1998 France 45 minutes Arabic

Abdenur and Sadek are both 27-year-olds. They live in a typical small Algerian town. They are “hitists”, who spend their days propping up walls, (hit in Arabic) trying to outwit their empty, hopeless existence, in which neither work nor fun are on the horizon. The film follows their wanderings between the dreams of their wasted youth and the walls of reality.
