The Faroes are an archipelago of eight islands under Danish sovereignty. In 825, Vikings escaping the Norwegian king’s rule settled there to live from fishing and sheep-breeding, a lifestyle that goes unchanged for their descendants. In the summer, young boys catch seabirds from the high cliffs with nets .
