In a rural Cuban maternity clinic, the loneliness and distress of women about to give birth. The doctors and orderlies bustle around, with no regard for their patients, whom they see as being the main obstacle to smoothly managed childbirth. The encounter between the two perspectives is violent. Yet, despite this antagonism the two sides unite to accomplish what has brought them together: bringing into the world a little man.
