Cairo, 25 January 2013: a spate of sexual aggressions takes place on Tahrir Square, the day of the second anniversary of the revolution. In response, a massive wave of angry women unfurls in the streets and Samaher Alqadi joins them without knowing where this story will lead her.

Palestinian filmmaker and screenwriter Samaher Alqadi is one of nine children and grew up in the Jalazone refugee camp near Ramallah in the West Bank. She first worked for the Palestinian Ministry of Culture before being accepted at the Egyptian Institute of Cinema in Cairo. An emerging voice in Arab documentary, she focuses on the changing status of women and dissident artists in the Middle East. As I Want is his first feature documentary.
