These Yaos can be distinguished thanks to the white trousers worn by men. They are approximately 25,000 spread out through the Guangxi and Guizhou mountains. The film covers their everyday life (the men work in the fields while the women weave and dye batiks; in the spring-time boys and girls flirt together via their songs) and a few important events which rhythm the village life: a marriage and a burial ceremony during which an ox is sacrified.
