Five years after the making of Close-up, the camera focuses once again on the story-spinning character of Hossein Sabzian. He sets out to explain himself; far from being an impostor, he conveys his love for the seventh art and how he conceives it. He recounts how his life has changed since the last film. He shares his thoughts on his present situation, his desires and fears, and provides a mirror in which all cinema-lovers and unknown actors may see themselves. ‘The film moved me to such an extent that I couldn’t sleep at night.
