The last of Manhattan’s boxing clubs, the ultimate vestige of the Madison Square Garden period is to close down. For many young people living in the harsh reality of New York, it symbolised the hope for a better life, of fame and fortune. The film explores the daily routine in the club and those who frequent it – trainers, managers, former boxers, champions at the height of the career or about to retire. Hommage to a little known world and to the passion for boxing.
