” Marseilles, ten days before a big football match. An excited crowd of O.M. supporters in a stadium whose geography reflects the social divisions of the city. For some this is a love story that gives them a meaning in life. The film was shot over ten days and culminates in the decisive match in the 1990 French championship, when Marseille played Bordeaux in front of 50.000 spectators. I knew nothing about football, even less about football fans. I kept my back resolutely turned away from the green and watched the spectators, playing out their passion like a real theatrical drama. ” (Philippe Costantini)
