Enzima Rosso : La Repubblica autonoma di Civita Castellana
“Our research into how elementary forms of life are organised has enabled us to discover a new kind of catalyst for speeding up history: the red enzyme.” In 1954, after a protracted general strike in the ceramics factories of Civita Castellana, a small town in the centre of Italy, an experimental self-management system was set up. This was to provide a model for other workers’ co-operatives, without being extended to the rest of society. The film shows what remains of this episode in today’s work and actions. As the former workers talk about fragments of theirexperience, this forgotten story takes on a new light.
Né en Italie en 1966. Suit des études en philosophie puis travaille comme maçon avant d’ouvrir un ciné-club à Civita Castellana.
