Fièvre de cheval
“In the morning, on the Mont-de-Marsan racecourse, in tempo with the deafening Mirage jets at the nearby air base, long lines of horses raise the dust on the briddle paths on their way to the track. Teenagers learn and mime the gestures of their elders in their multi-coloured blouses. The apprentice-jockey school is in the midst of the stables. About a hundred, mostly female, pupils live there. Through the eyes of some of the trainees, who have to cope with the school, the trainers, the confirmed jockeys and the owners, the film juxtaposes a professional dream and social reality. This film seeks to lovingly observe men and women who wish to live in close contact with horses. Giving these animals an all-encompassing love is an almost religious act” (Patrick Jan)
