Final Offer – Bob White and The Canadian Auto-Worker Fight For Independence

Robert Collinson
1985 Canada 78 minutes English; French voice over

1984: because of the automobile crisis in the USA, trade unionists are led to accept important concessions. The U.A.W., the Canadian auto-workers trade union, traditionally linked to the fate of their American counterparts, obstinately refused, through the voice of its leader Bob White, to submit. This document was shot in the very heart of negociations for independence – which was supported by strikes – and reveals both the amazing personality of an exceptional leader, an Irish émigré, and the secrets behind his historical victory.
