Fleuve Niger, Mère noire

Ola Balogun
1989 France 43 minutes French

The river Niger, the cradle of history, has seen great African civilizations spring up and flourish along its banks. The film is a slow memory-laden journey down the banks of the Niger. A source of life, which flows through West Africa, sometimes leisurely, sometimes turbulent, into the Gulf of Benin where it fans out into a gigantic delta.
