1996 Germany 95 minutes Russian

Olga and her sisters were born in Kazakhstan, where, in 1941, Stalin had installed the Germans from the Volga region. Since the collapse of Soviet Union, the sisters have settled elsewhere in the hope of finding a better life. Olga lives with her Russian husband and their children in a village in the Kaliningrad district, formerly Eastern Prussia; Anja has left for the Caucasus, Nina for West Germany, where she finds it difficult to feel at home despite her German roots. In the summer of 1995, Olga invites her sisters home for a family gathering. After a highly emotional meeting and a discussion about old times, the moment comes for assessing and comparing experiences. Have Olga, Anja, Lilli, and Nina finally settled in countries they can call their own?
