Gita Govinda

Amit Dutta
2013 India; Switzerland 34 minutes No dialogue

The Gita-Govinda, a famous 12th-century epic poem in Sanskrit literature, sings of the tormented love between the young god Krishna and Radha, a metaphor of the believer’s fervour. The mise en scène and sound design infuse the miniature paintings with enchanted life.
