Cöskun is the eldest son of a family of peasants from a village in East Anatolia. His parents made a great many sacrifices so he could go to Inönü University. However, during his stay in the big town, he became politically active, only to end up in prison accused of subversion. His sentencing proves a disaster for his parents, whose financial situation is increasingly precarious.
