In order to set up a missile base in the Marshall Islands, geared to its Star War programme, the U.S. government evacuated the island of Kwajalein and resettled its inhabitants under deplorable conditions in the neighbouring island of Ebeye. But when the lease expires after 30 years,72 years old, Handel Dribo, the owner of Kwajalein, refuses to give in. “I will take back my land, despite the threats, war, violence and even death”. Fighting for survival and the dignity of his people, the old chief, a pacifist, denounces the injustice as well as American imperialism.
