For 10 years, Giuseppe Verdi who had no immediate heir, carried with him the dream of a convalescent home for operatic artists. Today, the Casa Verdi shelters many celebrities and in particular Sara Scuderi-the legendary Tosca of the 1930s, Giuseppe Manachini and Giovanni Erminio Pulighedu. Daniel Shimd’s tender and friendly camera reveals, intouched by time, the talent, the spirit and the eternal youth of these artists. The Casa Verdi, as by magic, charges into an opera house.
Né en 1941 à Flims (Grisons).
De 1962 à 1968, études d’histoire et de lettres à l’Université libre de Berlin. De 1966 à 1969, fréquente l’Académie du Film et de la Télévision de Berlin.
Il vient de mettre en scène Barbe Bleue d’Offenbach à Genève.
