In and Out of Time

Elizabeth Finlayson
1991 United States 14 minutes English

The memory of the filmmaker’s grandmother is failing. She remains sitting for long spells of time, staring into nothingness, cut off from her past. Then she starts rambling through the house, and she suddenly comes to a halt as if trying to recapture some fleeting memory bound to vanish as soon as it appears. The documentary reflects its author’s feeling of tenderness and love for this old lady through stories conjured up from childhood.
