Kabl Al Ikhtifaa

Joude Gorani
2005 Syria 13 minutes Arabic

The Barada River, on which Damascus was built, was called the “River of Gold” by the Romans. Its seven arms flow through the city districts and suburbs. Its waters irrigate Ghouta oasis. Yet the river is drying up. The city and country folk talk about the river before it disappears.
