La Passione del grano

An antique peasant ritual, heir to pagan Mediterranean civilizations, is held each year at harvest time in San Giorgio Lucano. The fear of long winter months with neither crops nor vegetation inspires the people to organize a propitiatory performance in three acts for hope for further crops.
