La Terra dell’uomo – 1° Come muore un film – 2° Sicilia dei mutamenti

In the early 60’s, Gianfranco Mingozzi began shooting a film on Sicily, direct cinema without actors. The film was to have been structured around the person of Danilo Dolci, a partisan of “non-violent”struggle. The film was never completed, and the first part of the investigation tries to explain why the finances were cut off. Nontheless, Gianfranco Mingozzi and his team had managed to shoot several metres of film, whose strong and courageous content, showed the violence in Sicily as well as the crimes of the Mafia. A documentary was made with a small part of this material : Sicily, the immobile heart, which was the Golden Lion at Venice. The full version of this is shown in part one.
