Alexandre Ivanovitch Medvedkine was one of the first Communists, proud of his younger days in the Red Cavalry in 1920. In his opinion, the Perestroika was a positive development of Communism. This film reconstitutes the work of the film-maker who, while wanting to be of service to the Party, always managed to show the system’s anomalies with a grating sense of humour.
