Loulou et Pépé

Marianne Gosset
2006 France 50 minutes French

Thirteen-year-old Louise and ten-year-old Penelope are playing with their filmmaker grandmother at making a film about wanting to grow up (or not), or finding oneself pretty (or not). Sometimes, they take the camera to act being frightened, and actually are. They murder or save humanity in the Barbie-doll theatre or the home-made Hollywood blockbuster. They count on their friends to say the things that parents do not notice. They do not want to answer all questions as everything will come in its own time. Peter Pan and the Little Mermaid follow them like shadows. Childhood will soon come to an end.
