In 1895, Louis et Auguste Lumière invented the cinématograph. Starting in 1896, they made fiction films, documentaries, reportages, family movies and cartoons. They trained operators who travelled to the four corners of the planet to bring back the first images of the world. Lumière, is a selection of sixty films representing mankind’s first visual memory, the matrix of a hundred years of cinema.
