Magnum Begynasium Bruxellense is a lively chronicle of the people in the Béguinage district of Brussels. It is an old and poor area between the former quays of Brussels harbour and the main shopping avenues of the city centre. Despite recent renovation plans, it is under threat of disappearing in a near future. The film is planned as a global encyclopaedia and falls into some 30 chapters intertwined like the pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. It unrolls in one day from dawn to night.
