Me and My Matchmaker

Mark Wexler
1995 United States 55 minutes English

Mark, an unmarried filmmaker sets out to make a documentary about a Jewish matchmaker in Chicago. Irene founded the agency after the death of her husband and, henceforth, spends her time trying to ensure the happiness of others. Quite naturally, Mark’s future happiness does not escape her and she undertakes to find him a suitable companion. He soon finds his inquiry somewhat blown off course and his relations with young women rather complicated. In between two kosher dinners cooked by his new friend, Mark is challenged to reconsider his own basic assumptions about love and marriage.
