‘Ndrangheta: a Mafia of Business and Blood
Calabria, at the southern tip of Italy. For a while now, anonymous letters have been flooding the desk of the region’s anti-mafia public prosecutor. The residents of Rizziconi are complaining about the climate of terror imposed by Teodoro Crea, who heads a local clan of the Calabrian mafia, also known as the ‘Ndrangheta. They describe the daily extorsions, threats and pressures of all kinds. At the request of prosecutor Pennisi, inspector Morrone begins what becomes a long and fastidious investigation that involves tapping phones, digging into bank and cadastral records, and above all… waiting. A camera is there at his side, discreet and most often hidden so as not to interfere with the course of the inquiry. For seven years and often with a hidden camera, Corradino Durruti follows this investigation into the local mafia boss in a small town in Calabria.
